Evil Minion (Metallic)

The Evil Minion (Metallic) Pop! figure was released as part of the Pop! Movies line by Funko, inspired by the 2013 animated feature Despicable Me 2. In the film, the iconic yellow Minions are transformed into aggressive, purple-furred creatures after exposure to the PX-41 serum. This specific variant was designed to capture the character's erratic aesthetic with a distinct metallic finish, adding a reflective sheen to the character's signature wild hair and sharp teeth.

This figure emerged during a period of rapid expansion for Funko, as the brand began experimenting with variant finishes like metallic, glow-in-the-dark, and flocked textures to appeal to serious collectors. The metallic variant was positioned as a limited-edition chase or exclusive release, emphasizing the contrast between the character's monstrous nature and the premium, stylized production of the Pop! vinyl medium. It remains a notable piece for collectors focusing on the evolution of early Pop! manufacturing techniques.
