Hamburglar

The Hamburglar Funko Pop, numbered 181 in the Ad Icons series, was released to celebrate the long-standing cultural impact of McDonald's corporate mascots. First appearing in 1971, the character was designed as a mischievous, burger-stealing villain in the McDonaldland universe. Funko adapted the classic look—complete with the black-and-white striped shirt, cape, and signature hat—to fit their distinct stylized vinyl aesthetic, aiming to capture the nostalgia of 1970s and 80s fast-food advertising.

This figure was received warmly by collectors of the Ad Icons line, which focuses on iconic figures from American commercial history. Funko’s design team sought to maintain the whimsical, slightly nefarious expression of the original character while ensuring the proportions matched their standard window-box presentation. The release served as a companion piece to other notable McDonaldland characters, reflecting the brand's ongoing effort to preserve mid-century corporate iconography for a modern audience of adult collectors.
