Hamburglar

The Hamburglar Funko Pop, numbered 87 within the Ad Icons series, was released to celebrate the long-standing cultural impact of McDonald's corporate mascots. Created as a villainous but mischievous character in the 1970s to promote the McDonaldland marketing campaign, the Hamburglar was designed to personify the cravings of consumers, famously proclaiming that he was 'robble-robbling' for hamburgers. The Pop figure captures his classic appearance, including the black-and-white striped outfit, mask, and wide-brimmed hat, distilling the character's mid-century commercial aesthetic into Funko's signature stylized form.

This figure emerged during a period of significant growth for the Ad Icons line, which aimed to capitalize on nostalgia for 20th-century advertising legends. Funko designers prioritized iconic elements like his cape and tie to ensure instant recognizability for collectors who grew up with the fast-food brand's television commercials. The release was well-received by the collecting community, serving as a staple piece for those documenting the intersection of corporate branding and pop culture history through vinyl figures.
