Where it came from
Jack Skellington, the iconic Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, was introduced to audiences in the 1993 stop-motion animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Directed by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton, the character was designed with a distinct, elongated aesthetic that became a staple of gothic animation. Funko’s iteration of the character as part of their Pop! Disney line translates this signature skeletal appearance into the brand's recognizable vinyl aesthetic, featuring oversized eyes and a simplified, stylized frame.
As part of the expansive Pop! Disney collection, specifically figure number 1355, this item serves as a commemorative piece celebrating the lasting cultural impact of the film. Funko designers prioritized the character's characteristic pinstriped suit and bat-wing bow tie, aiming to capture his eerie yet whimsical charm for display purposes. The figure represents a broader tradition of collecting within the Pop! series, where fans seek out specific character numbers to complete their curated displays of cinematic history.
