Where it came from
Jack Skellington, the iconic protagonist of Tim Burton's 1993 stop-motion feature The Nightmare Before Christmas, serves as the inspiration for this Funko Pop figure. Released as part of the broader Pop! Disney line, this particular iteration, number 1356, continues Funko's long-standing tradition of translating stylized cinematic characters into their signature vinyl aesthetic, characterized by oversized heads and simplified, minimalist features.
The character design remains faithful to Henry Selick’s original vision, which draws heavily from German Expressionist influences and the distinct illustrative style of Tim Burton. By distilling Jack’s elongated, skeletal frame into the stout Pop! form factor, the design team aimed to capture his haunting yet charismatic personality for the collector market, resulting in a piece that functions as both a celebration of cult-classic animation and a staple of contemporary pop culture memorabilia.
