Where it came from
Zero, the spectral dog from Tim Burton's 1993 stop-motion classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, was introduced to the Funko Pop! Disney line as a way to celebrate the enduring popularity of the film's gothic aesthetic. Designed to capture the character's ethereal, translucent nature, this specific figure—number 1244—was released as part of an ongoing series dedicated to the characters of Halloweentown, aimed at both longtime fans of the movie and collectors of stylized vinyl figures.
The figure draws heavily from the original character design by Tim Burton, who envisioned Zero as a whimsical yet slightly melancholic spirit. The design team at Funko aimed to translate his elongated, flowing form into their signature aesthetic, balancing the character's iconic pumpkin nose and spectral tail with the standard Pop! silhouette. The release was met with enthusiasm by the animation community, serving as a staple piece for those curating a Nightmare Before Christmas collection.
