Where it came from
Released as part of the crossover series between Sanrio's iconic Hello Kitty and Friends and the popular anime My Hero Academia, this figure was produced by Funko to celebrate a unique blend of two distinct pop culture worlds. The collaboration imagines Sanrio characters dressed in the costumes of various UA High School students, bridging the gap between the sugary aesthetic of 1970s character design and the high-energy action of modern shonen manga.
This specific figure depicts Keroppi, the adventurous frog, dressed as Tsuyu Asui. The design team focused on retaining the recognizable round features of Keroppi while incorporating the signature green bodysuit, goggles, and oversized eyes associated with Tsuyu's hero persona. Like much of the Pop! Animation line, the figure was intended as a novelty collectible for fans who appreciate the surreal nature of licensed character mashups, and it was generally well-received by collectors who prioritize the quirkiness of cross-brand partnerships.
