Where it came from
Released as part of the Pop! Rocks line, this figure immortalizes the iconic skeletal mascot of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. The design is based specifically on the cover art of the band's 1981 album, 'Killers,' which was illustrated by Derek Riggs. The artwork features Eddie wielding an axe in a dark London alleyway, an image that remains one of the most recognizable symbols in the history of rock and metal music.
Funko’s stylized interpretation retains the signature features of the original illustration, including Eddie’s menacing grin and tattered clothing. As part of the broader Iron Maiden collection, the figure was created to celebrate the band's long-standing visual legacy and their unique relationship with mascot-driven marketing. It was received favorably by collectors and fans of the band as a faithful, miniature tribute to Riggs’s enduring album cover.
