Where it came from
The Nights of the Dead Eddie figure, designated as number 9 in the Pop! Digital series, was released by Funko as a digital collectible tied to the physical redemption of a non-fungible token. This iteration of Iron Maiden's mascot, Eddie, is modeled after the cover art for the live album 'Nights of the Dead, Legacy of the Beast: Live in Mexico City,' which captured the band's 2019 touring aesthetic.
The design draws directly from the iconic, grotesque imagery associated with Eddie's long history in heavy metal iconography. As part of the Digital Pop! lineup, this specific variant, numbered out of 666, was created to appeal to both long-time Iron Maiden devotees and collectors of limited-run Funko products, emphasizing a dark, celebratory aesthetic that aligns with the band's theatrical stage performances.
