Kirito

Kirito, the protagonist of the widely popular light novel and anime series Sword Art Online, was introduced to the Pop! Animation line as number 990 to celebrate the character's enduring cultural impact. Designed by the creative team at Funko, this figure captures Kirito in his iconic black attire, reflecting his role as the 'Black Swordsman' within the digital landscape of Aincrad. The design leans into the simplified, stylized aesthetic characteristic of the Pop! brand, emphasizing the character's sharp features and signature dual-wielding pose.

This figure emerged during a period of significant expansion for the Pop! Animation category, as Funko looked to solidify its presence within the global anime market. Upon its release, it was received as a standard entry for enthusiasts of the Sword Art Online franchise, catering to collectors who value accessible, mass-produced representations of major media characters. Like many figures in the line, its reception was driven by the deep-seated nostalgia and ongoing popularity of the source material among long-time followers of the series.
