Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, figure number 475 represents Lance from the 2016 Netflix reboot, Voltron: Legendary Defender. The figure was produced to coincide with the series' popularity, capturing Lance in his iconic blue paladin armor, complete with his signature bayard. This line sought to translate the studio's sleek, modernized character designs into Funko’s stylized, chibi-inspired aesthetic, emphasizing the vibrant color palette associated with the Blue Lion pilot.
The design process for the Voltron series of Funko Pops focused on maintaining recognizable details from the show’s animation style while adhering to the standard Pop! silhouette. These figures were generally well-received by the show’s dedicated fan base, serving as accessible collectibles for fans of the DreamWorks and Studio Mir production. As a common release within the series, the figure is noted for its faithful representation of Lance’s appearance during the show's early seasons.
