Where it came from
Released as part of the Pop! Animation line, this figure depicts Shiro, the pilot of the Black Lion from the 2016 Netflix series Voltron: Legendary Defender. The item was produced to commemorate the reboot of the classic 1980s franchise, capturing the character in his quintessential space-faring flight suit with a distinctive glow-in-the-dark finish applied to his prosthetic arm and suit accents.
The design follows Funko's signature stylized aesthetic, distilling the complex, angular animation style of Studio Mir into the brand's iconic large-headed, wide-eyed form. This specific glow-in-the-dark variant was released to appeal to collectors seeking unique chase-style features, and it was received by fans of the series as a faithful representation of the character's mysterious energy signature during the show's early seasons.
