Leo

Leo the Lion, the protagonist of Osamu Tezuka’s seminal manga series 'Kimba the White Lion', was reimagined as part of the Pop! Zodiac series. This line was designed to fuse Western astrological signs with the iconic visual style of classic Japanese animation and manga legends. By casting Leo as the zodiac representative for the sign of the same name, Funko aimed to honor the legacy of Tezuka, often referred to as the 'God of Manga', while appealing to collectors interested in the intersection of character history and symbolic iconography.

The figure features the distinct, wide-eyed aesthetic characteristic of Tezuka’s character designs, scaled to the standardized Funko vinyl proportions. Released as number 53 in the broader Zodiac collection, the figure maintains the recognizable color palette of the character, utilizing minimalist detailing to emphasize his silhouette. Upon release, the item was received as a niche collector's piece, particularly noted for its appeal to fans of classic anime and those who appreciate the creative application of pop culture figures to traditional zodiacal themes.
