Where it came from
Released as part of the Pop! Games line for the tactical team-based shooter Overwatch, the Reaper (Hellfire) figure, numbered 498, depicts the iconic character Gabriel Reyes in his legendary Hellfire skin. This variant captures the character’s dual-wielding aesthetic and dark, skeletal-inspired motif, which became a staple of the franchise's visual design. The figure was produced by Funko in collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment to satisfy the high demand for collectibles based on the game's diverse roster of heroes.
The character of Reaper was designed by the Blizzard art team to embody a vengeful, shadowy archetype, utilizing a monochromatic color palette with glowing red accents that Funko sought to replicate in its signature stylized format. As part of the wider Overwatch series, this figure reflects the mid-2010s trend of bringing competitive digital characters into physical, shelf-ready form. Collectors and fans of the game received these figures as accessible tokens of the evolving lore and aesthetic identity of the Overwatch universe.
