Where it came from
The Rictus Erectus figure, numbered 527 in the Pop! Movies line, was released as a 2017 Emerald City Comic Con exclusive. It depicts the formidable character from the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road, capturing his imposing physique and signature tactical gear. The figure was produced by Funko to satisfy collector demand for characters from George Miller's critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic epic, which was noted for its distinct visual aesthetic and intense character design.
The design of the figure emphasizes the character's rugged, industrial look, utilizing the brand's signature stylized aesthetic to render his detailed harness and facial features. As a convention exclusive, it was created to commemorate the cultural impact of the film and to provide fans with a more niche, highly sought-after piece within the broader Pop! collection. It received a positive reception from enthusiasts of the franchise who valued the inclusion of secondary characters alongside the film's protagonists.
