Where it came from
Sally, the soulful ragdoll from Tim Burton’s 1993 stop-motion classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, was introduced as part of the Funko Pop! Disney line under number 1605. This particular iteration arrives as part of a recurring series of releases honoring the film’s enduring status as a centerpiece of holiday and gothic animation. Funko’s design philosophy for this figure focuses on capturing her stitched-together aesthetic and sorrowful, kind expression, utilizing the company's signature oversized head and simplified features to make the character immediately recognizable to collectors.
The figure draws its visual identity from the character's original stop-motion puppets, which were meticulously crafted to reflect her fragile, patched-up nature. By distilling these complex visual elements into the streamlined Pop! format, the designers aimed to preserve the melancholic charm that has made Sally a beloved figure in pop culture for decades. Its release serves as a tribute to the film’s legacy, appealing to both fans of the original cinematic artistry and those who curate collections centered on Disney’s darker, more stylized character designs.
