Where it came from
Shishido, also known as the Lion Hero: Leo, was introduced as part of the Pop! Animation series by Funko to celebrate the expansive cast of the My Hero Academia franchise. This figure, numbered 1812 in the line, represents the professional hero known for his powerful quirk that allows him to transform into a lion. His inclusion reflects Funko's ongoing strategy of producing vinyl collectibles for the most prominent heroes and villains in the series as their screen time increases within the anime adaptation.
The design of the figure translates Kohei Horikoshi's original character art into Funko’s signature stylized aesthetic, featuring the oversized head and simplified facial features characteristic of the Pop! line. As with many figures in the Animation series, the design focuses on capturing the character's distinct hero costume and signature mane. Since its release, the figure has been received as a standard addition for collectors documenting the Pro Hero roster of the My Hero Academia universe.
