Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Rides line, this figure captures Shuri piloting the Sunbird, a specialized aircraft featured prominently in Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The piece was produced to celebrate the film's release and the evolution of Shuri's character as she takes on a more central role in the defense of Wakanda. It serves as a physical representation of the film's blend of advanced technology and traditional aesthetics.
The design of the figure focuses on the intricate, angular geometry of the Sunbird vehicle, incorporating the specific color palette and tribal-inspired motifs that define the Wakandan aesthetic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As with other entries in the Pop! Rides series, the design team aimed to balance the stylized, oversized features characteristic of the Funko brand with the mechanical complexity of the source vehicle, resulting in a display piece that highlights the collaborative effort between Marvel's visual development team and the Funko creative department.
