Where it came from
Sigmund was released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line, paying homage to the 1970s live-action children's program Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. The series was produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, known for their imaginative and surreal puppet-based storytelling. The figure captures the titular character, a friendly sea monster befriended by two brothers, reflecting the nostalgic appeal of Saturday morning television from that era.
The design of this vinyl figure focuses on the distinct, fuzzy aesthetic of the original puppet, utilizing the standard Pop! stylized silhouette. Funko released the item as a way to engage collectors interested in classic cult television properties. It remains a representative piece for fans of the Krofft brothers' creative output, documenting the transition of vintage puppetry icons into the modern medium of designer vinyl collectibles.
