Where it came from
Skyress was released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, representing the iconic Pyrus attribute Bakugan from the early 2000s anime series. This figure was produced to tap into the nostalgia of the original Bakugan Battle Brawlers franchise, featuring the character in its signature avian-inspired form. The design captures the translucent wings and sharp, angular aesthetic that defined the toy line and its animated counterpart.
The figure reflects Funko's broader strategy of translating stylized animated mascots into their standardized vinyl format. By focusing on the distinctive color palette and elemental crests associated with Skyress, the designers aimed to maintain visual consistency with the source material while adhering to the character proportions typical of the Pop! brand. Upon release, it was primarily sought after by collectors of the franchise and fans of 2000s toy culture.
