Where it came from
Stellina is a Funko Pop! vinyl figure released as part of the Ad Icons line, representing the beloved mascot of the Italian confectionery company Stellina, famously associated with the 'Stellina' chocolate star cereal. Introduced by the Italian brand Saiwa in the late 20th century, the mascot became an iconic piece of Italian breakfast culture, characterized by its celestial branding and star-shaped cereal pieces that resonated with generations of consumers.
The Funko Pop! rendition, numbered 96 in the Ad Icons series, was designed to mirror the classic 2D aesthetic of the mascot while adopting the distinct, stylized proportions of the Funko brand. By capturing the character’s cheerful expression and signature star motifs, the design team aimed to evoke nostalgia for the specific branding aesthetic of European breakfast advertisements, ultimately finding a receptive audience among collectors of international advertising memorabilia and those appreciative of the Pop! Ad Icons sub-series.
