Where it came from
SweeTarts, the iconic tangily sweet candy originally created by Sunline Inc. in 1963, were developed as a pressed-dextrose confection that paired the texture of Pixy Stix with the flavor profiles of Lik-M-Aid. Their design, characterized by vibrant colors and a distinctive tart-sweet duality, cemented them as a staple of American confectionery throughout the late 20th century.
This vinyl figure, part of the Funko Pop! Ad Icons series, serves as a nostalgic tribute to the brand's enduring visual legacy. Funko’s design team emphasized the classic rounded aesthetic and playful branding associated with the candy's original packaging, aiming to capture the mid-century pop-art sensibility that has made the Ad Icons line a focal point for collectors of vintage advertising ephemera.
