Thanos (Closed Fist) (Purple Chrome)

The Thanos (Closed Fist) Purple Chrome figure was released as part of the Funko Pop! Marvel series to coincide with the 2018 theatrical debut of Avengers: Infinity War. Designed as a specialized variant, this figure reimagines the primary antagonist of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a stylized, reflective metallic finish. The design choice reflects Funko's strategy during this period to create high-visibility chase and exclusive items that leveraged the intense cultural anticipation surrounding the culmination of the Infinity Saga.

The figure represents a specific subset of Funko's 'Chrome' series, which utilized vacuum-metallized finishes to distinguish standard molds from collectible iterations. While the sculpt remains identical to the standard Pop number 415, the vibrant purple aesthetic was intended to mimic the character's skin tone while adhering to the uniform metallic styling popular among collectors of the era. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a display piece for completists of the Infinity War set, serving as a distinct aesthetic departure from the matte-finish figures prevalent in the main line.
