The Spot

The Spot, numbered 1226 in the Pop! Marvel series, was produced by Funko to coincide with the 2023 release of the animated feature film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. As the primary antagonist of the film, the character represents a departure from his initial comic book persona, reimagined with a more fluid, ink-blot aesthetic that reflects the film's experimental animation style. The figure captures his unstable, interdimensional portal-covered form, which serves as a visual manifestation of his role as a multiversal threat.

The design of this Pop! figure emphasizes the character's void-like physiology, rendered in the classic oversized-head format characteristic of Funko's branding. It was released as part of a wider wave of merchandise designed to capitalize on the critical acclaim of the Spider-Verse franchise, specifically highlighting the film's emphasis on visual storytelling and unique character designs. Collectors generally received the piece as a faithful representation of the movie's distinct art direction, reinforcing the character's status as a breakout villain in the Marvel animated canon.
