Where it came from
Tossakan, the primary antagonist of the Ramakien, was introduced to the Pop! Asia line as part of a series celebrating Southeast Asian mythology. Produced by Funko, this figure captures the ten-faced giant king in the iconic stylized aesthetic of the Pop! vinyl range. Its release was intended to broaden the appeal of the franchise to international markets, specifically honoring Thai cultural heritage through a contemporary, collectible lens.
The design of the figure focuses on the traditional khon mask appearance, characterized by intricate detailing and the signature green complexion of the demon king. By distilling such a complex mythological figure into a simplified, oversized-head silhouette, the design team sought to balance traditional iconography with the modern vinyl toy movement. Upon release, it was well-received by regional collectors and those interested in the fusion of classical folklore with modern pop culture design.
