Where it came from
The Werehog Pop! figure, designated number 862 in the Pop! Games series, was released by Funko to commemorate the distinctive transformation of Sonic the Hedgehog seen in the 2008 video game Sonic Unleashed. The design reflects the character's brawnier, lycanthropic appearance, a departure from Sonic's traditional sleek aesthetic, intended to capture the dramatic shift in gameplay mechanics and narrative tone introduced in that specific title.
Funko’s stylized interpretation of the Werehog maintains the company’s signature oversized head and simplified facial features while incorporating the character’s elongated arms and feral, shaggy textures. The figure was produced to appeal to long-time fans of the Sonic franchise, particularly those interested in the more experimental era of the series' history. It has since become a recognized item among collectors focused on the diverse iterations of the hedgehog spanning his multi-decade presence in gaming culture.
