Where it came from
Zero was released as part of the initial wave of Funko Pop! Games figures dedicated to the Borderlands franchise, a series developed by Gearbox Software that popularized the looter-shooter genre. The figure captures the character's signature minimalist, sleek design, featuring his distinct helmet with its shifting digital display and his iconic katana, which reflects his role as an elite assassin in the game’s lore.
The design draws heavily from Zero's 'default' appearance in Borderlands 2. Funko designers opted for a stylized, vinyl interpretation that maintains the character's sharp edges while adhering to the standard Pop! aesthetic of a large head and simplified, bold features. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the franchise for successfully translating a complex, multi-limbed character model into the compact, collectible format.
