Where it came from
Released in 2020 as part of the Lego City theme, the Air Race set 60260-1 was designed to provide an accessible and dynamic play experience for younger builders. The set features a stunt plane with a spinning propeller, a toy helicopter with a functioning winch, and a starting platform, reflecting the long-standing tradition of Lego depicting aviation-themed heroics within their city-building ecosystem.
The design of the set focuses on action-oriented play, incorporating modular components that allow for interactive maneuvers. It was created as part of the broader City series, which emphasizes realistic scenarios and emergency services. Upon its release, it was received as a standard entry-level kit, appreciated by collectors for its inclusion of unique minifigures, including the pilot character 'Rivets' from the animated Lego City Adventures series.
