Where it came from
Released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Classic line, the Around the World set was designed to encourage open-ended creativity by providing a curated selection of bricks inspired by iconic landmarks and global cultural imagery. This set serves as an accessible entry point for younger builders or those interested in themed micro-scale construction, moving away from the complex instructions of licensed series toward a more traditional, versatile building experience.
The set includes 950 pieces and was developed to allow users to construct fifteen distinct, small-scale representations of world heritage sites and symbols, ranging from the Taj Mahal to the Great Pyramids and local wildlife. It was well-received by the enthusiast community for its generous brick-to-price ratio and its commitment to the classic LEGO philosophy of building without rigid structural constraints, highlighting a trend toward educational, globally-minded play patterns.
