Where it came from
BrickJournal, a long-running magazine dedicated to the adult fan of LEGO (AFOL) community, published issue 26 as part of its ongoing mission to document the intersection of professional builders and hobbyists. This specific edition focuses on the theme of space and science fiction within the brick-building hobby, reflecting the enduring popularity of space-themed sets in the builder community. It was produced under the editorial guidance of Joe Meno, who has served as the magazine's editor-in-chief since its inception, aiming to provide technical insights, builder spotlights, and behind-the-scenes looks at set design.
The publication acts as a bridge between the fan community and the professional LEGO design sphere. Its design aesthetic centers on high-quality photography and instructional content, seeking to elevate the hobby from a casual pastime to a form of creative expression. Upon release, the magazine was received by the collector community as a standard reference piece for specialized building techniques and inspiration for MOCs (My Own Creations), maintaining its reputation as a primary archival resource for fans interested in the broader culture of brick construction.
