LEGO Minifigures - Series 18 - Complete

Released in 2018 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure, the Series 18 collection stands out as the first themed mystery bag series that lacked a direct tie-in to a third-party license. The collection was designed to capture the festive spirit of a costume party, featuring a diverse array of characters dressed in everything from brick-shaped outfits to whimsical animal suits. This anniversary release was widely praised by the community for its creative approach to celebrating four decades of LEGO history, blending nostalgia with imaginative new character designs.

The series is perhaps most notable for the inclusion of the Classic Police Officer, a rare 'chase' figure intended to replicate the very first minifigure released in 1978. Designers aimed to mirror the original aesthetic while maintaining the modern standards of print quality and accessory variety. By placing this vintage-inspired figure within a set of eccentric, modern costume characters, the series successfully bridged the gap between long-time adult collectors and younger fans, serving as both a historical homage and a playful standalone set.
