Where it came from
Released in early 2012, LEGO Minifigures Series 6 marked the continuation of the company's popular blind-bag collectible strategy. This series was designed to offer a diverse range of characters that expanded beyond standard themes, allowing for unique artistic expression in small-scale modeling. Each bag provided a random selection from a lineup of sixteen distinct figures, ranging from historical archetypes like the Roman Soldier to whimsical characters such as the Sleepyhead.
The design team at LEGO focused on high-detail printing and specialized molded accessories to give each figure personality despite their small size. By utilizing a randomized distribution model, LEGO successfully engaged collectors and children alike, turning the act of acquisition into a communal experience of trading and identification. The series was well-received by the fan community for its inventive character designs and the challenge of completing the full set through individual bag purchases.
