Where it came from
Released in May 2012, Series 7 of the LEGO Minifigures line continued the company's successful strategy of selling blind bags containing one of sixteen unique, non-licensed characters. This specific series was part of a broader push to expand the variety of themes offered in the collection, moving beyond generic professions to include historical and fantastical archetypes like the Aztec Warrior, the Evil Knight, and the Tennis Ace.
The designs for these figures were created by the LEGO internal design team, who sought to leverage new dual-molding techniques and intricate printing to make the characters stand out despite their small size. Upon release, Series 7 was well-received by the adult collector community for its eclectic character selection and the introduction of unique accessories, such as the rabbit costume worn by the Bunny Suit Guy and the intricate feather work on the Aztec Warrior.
