Where it came from
The Throne Room Showdown set, released in 2018 as part of the Lego Ninjago theme, was designed to recreate the pivotal confrontation from the 'Sons of Garmadon' story arc. The set captures the interior of the Royal Palace of Ninjago, specifically the throne room where the Oni Masks were held. Its design emphasizes playability, featuring a sliding wall, a secret weapon compartment, and a throne with a trap function, allowing builders to enact the battle between Lloyd, Nya, and the antagonists Harumi and Samurai X.
This set is notable for its inclusion of several highly desirable minifigures, including the Princess Harumi and the mysterious Samurai X, which significantly influenced its reception among collectors. Designed to fit within the broader Ninjago seasonal release cycle, the set reflects the series' commitment to dynamic, action-oriented play environments. It received positive feedback for its compact design, which effectively utilized limited piece counts to create a recognizable scene from the animated series.
