Where it came from
Mickey Mouse, True Friend (Card 1) was released as a centerpiece of the Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue set for the Disney Lorcana trading card game. This cooperative gameplay experience was designed by Ravensburger to offer players a unique narrative challenge, distancing itself from standard competitive play by tasking participants with defeating the villainous Ursula through tactical cooperation.
The card features Mickey in his iconic attire, illustrated with the whimsical, modern aesthetic that defines the Lorcana art direction. The design process focused on translating classic Disney character identities into the game's ink-based mechanics, aiming to provide both thematic depth for collectors and functional utility for players engaging with the Great Hunny Rescue scenario.
