Where it came from
The Tiana card from the Hyperia City set represents a cornerstone of the collection's narrative, introduced as part of a strategic expansion into high-fantasy urban aesthetics. Conceived during the development phase of Hyperia City, the design team aimed to bridge the gap between classic character archetypes and the gritty, neon-soaked visual language that defines the set. As a legendary character card, its creation was focused on establishing a centerpiece for players, emphasizing both visual depth and a commanding presence on the board.
The illustration for Tiana was executed by a lead artist within the franchise who focused on conveying a sense of grounded etherealism. By balancing intricate, modern streetwear elements with traditional legendary motifs, the design intended to evoke a feeling of mystery and authority. Upon its release, the card was widely received by collectors as a technical achievement in foil processing and artistic layout, often cited as a benchmark for the aesthetic standards established by the Hyperia City series.
