Animate Wall

Animate Wall was released in 1994 as part of the Summer Magic set, colloquially known by players as 'Edgar.' This set was a special print run of the Revised Edition base set, produced by Wizards of the Coast for the European market to address supply shortages. While mechanically identical to the cards found in Revised, the Summer Magic printing is distinguished by its vibrant, corrected color saturation and the intentional inclusion of several rare misprints.

The card features artwork by Dan Frazier, a prominent contributor to the early Magic: The Gathering aesthetic. His illustration captures the surreal, high-fantasy tone characteristic of the game's initial era. Despite its functional role as a standard enchantment, the card has gained historical significance due to the extreme scarcity of the Summer Magic set, which was largely recalled and destroyed by the publisher shortly after its initial distribution.
