Where it came from
Annex Sentry was issued as a promotional card for the Netrunner Store Championships, a competitive circuit within the game's organized play structure. These promotional materials were designed to incentivize participation at local game stores, providing players with high-quality, alternate-art versions of functional gameplay cards that served as both utility and aesthetic trophies for tournament attendees.
The card features artwork commissioned to reflect the game's gritty, cyberpunk aesthetic, emphasizing the high-tech security and corporate dystopia that define the setting. As part of the Store Championship series, the design prioritized a distinct visual identity that separated it from standard-set releases, making it a sought-after piece for players looking to customize their decks with tournament-proven rewards.
