Arcus Acolyte // Arcus Acolyte

The Arcus Acolyte art card was released in 2021 as part of the Modern Horizons 2 Art Series, a collection of cards dedicated to showcasing the illustrations from the primary expansion set. These cards serve as collectible recreations of the artwork featured on gameplay cards, stripped of the traditional game mechanics to highlight the visual design. They were primarily distributed in collector booster packs, aiming to provide a high-quality tactile experience for enthusiasts who appreciate the artistic craft behind the Magic: The Gathering card game.

The illustration for Arcus Acolyte was created by artist Titus Lunter. Lunter’s design intent focused on capturing the serene yet ethereal aesthetic typical of the set's high-fantasy themes, utilizing a bright, fluid color palette that emphasizes the character's connection to magical energy. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the collecting community for its sharp print quality and the choice of premium card stock, which helps the intricate details and color blending remain vibrant compared to standard printing processes.
