Yusri, Fortune's Flame // Yusri, Fortune's Flame

Yusri, Fortune's Flame originates from the Modern Horizons 2 Art Series, a promotional set released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021. These cards were distributed exclusively in Modern Horizons 2 Collector Boosters, designed specifically to showcase the high-quality illustrations from the main set in a larger, borderless format without game-text clutter. This initiative was intended to elevate the visual art of Magic: The Gathering as a standalone collectible, appealing to enthusiasts who value the aesthetic contributions of the game's illustrators.

The card features the art of Lie Setiawan, who designed Yusri as a charismatic, flame-wielding Efreet character. Setiawan focused on a dynamic, high-fantasy composition that emphasizes the character's mastery over fire and his connection to luck and chaotic magic. Within the art community, the piece is recognized for its vibrant color palette and intricate linework, reflecting the stylistic trends of modern digital fantasy illustration that define the visual identity of current Magic: The Gathering expansions.
