Where it came from
Asinine Antics is a rare promotional card released as part of the Wilds of Eldraine set in late 2023. As a blue sorcery, it reflects the whimsical and fairy-tale aesthetic of the Eldraine plane, designed to capture the flavor of chaotic, disruptive magical effects. The card was distributed through Wizards of the Coast's organized play channels, intended as a reward for participants in specific community events or through promotional booster packs.
The card features artwork by artist Eeve Mimura, known for a signature style that balances high fantasy with a distinct, often playful illustrative flair. The design aims to balance the card's complex mechanical interactions with the set's broader theme of storybook tropes and enchantment-focused gameplay. Upon its release, it was well-received by players seeking versatile tools for Commander formats, appreciated for its blend of utility and the thematic lightheartedness inherent to the set's identity.
