Aven Cloudchaser

Aven Cloudchaser was originally introduced in the Odyssey expansion in 2001 and was later reprinted as part of the Ninth Edition core set, released in 2005. The Ninth Edition core set marked a significant transitional moment for the Magic: The Gathering brand, as it was the first time the game utilized a new card frame design across the entire core line, intended to provide a cleaner, more modern aesthetic that enhanced legibility for players.

The artwork for this specific printing was created by illustrator Justin Sweet. Known for his atmospheric and detailed fantasy style, Sweet emphasized the avian, warrior-like nature of the Aven race.
