Where it came from
Bitterblossom originally debuted in the 2008 Morningtide set as a rare enchantment, quickly becoming a cornerstone of competitive black-based decks due to its efficient, recurring token generation. Its inclusion in the Wilds of Eldraine: Enchanting Tales bonus sheet serves as a thematic nod to the card's iconic status, reimagining the enchantment with artwork that leans into the set's storybook aesthetic while maintaining its original mechanical identity.
The Enchanting Tales artwork for this specific printing was created by artist Livia Prima, who utilized a distinct, illustrative style to evoke the folklore-inspired tone of the Eldraine plane. This interpretation centers on the card's namesake floral motif, shifting away from the more overtly sinister tone of the original 2008 design to better align with the whimsical yet dark fairy tale visual language established for this collection.
