What it does

All creatures lose trample until end of turn. If a creature would deal combat damage to a creature this turn, it deals double that damage to that creature instead.

Provenance

Where it came from

Blind Fury was released in 1996 as part of the Mirage expansion for Magic: The Gathering. Developed by Wizards of the Coast, Mirage served as the beginning of the Mirage block and was designed to be the first set built specifically with the Limited (Draft/Sealed) environment in mind. The card depicts a warrior engaging in combat despite visual impairment, fitting the set’s thematic exploration of jungle warfare and mystical trials.

The artwork for Blind Fury was created by illustrator Randy Asplund-Faith, who contributed several pieces to the set during the mid-nineties. Asplund-Faith focused on a gritty, painterly aesthetic that defined the visual language of the period. While the card is a standard mechanical inclusion of its time, its design reflects the era's focus on situational combat mechanics, and it remains a nostalgic touchstone for players who participated in the burgeoning draft scene of the late twentieth century.
