Civic Wayfinder

The Civic Wayfinder, appearing as card number 56 in the 2012 Duels of the Planeswalkers expansion set, was originally designed as a tactical tool for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. First introduced in the Ravnica: City of Guilds block, the card serves as a creature that allows players to search their deck for basic lands, reflecting its thematic role as a guide through the dense, urban sprawl of the plane of Ravnica. The card was intended to provide deck consistency by helping players manage their resource distribution during the early stages of a game.

The artwork for the card captures the aesthetic of the Selesnya Conclave, one of the primary factions within the Ravnica setting. The illustration depicts a robed figure utilizing magical conduits to navigate the complex cityscape, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between nature and the artificial environment central to the Selesnya philosophy. This card has been appreciated by players for its functional design, often appearing in various reprint sets due to its reliable utility in green-based decks, which frequently require efficient ways to stabilize mana pools.
