Concordant Crossroads

Concordant Crossroads was originally released in the 1994 Legends expansion for Magic: The Gathering, designed by Richard Garfield to represent the concept of a magical nexus where haste is granted to all creatures. The card was later reprinted in the 1995 Chronicles set, which served as a curated collection of cards from earlier expansions, making previously rare or out-of-print cards more accessible to a growing player base during the game's early years.

The artwork for the card was created by Quinton Hoover, a foundational illustrator for the game known for his distinct, lyrical style. His design for this card captures an ethereal, interconnected landscape, visually reinforcing the enchantment's rules text. While the card initially met with mixed reviews due to its symmetrical effect—which can benefit opponents as much as the caster—it has since become a staple in specific competitive formats for its unique ability to fundamentally alter the pace of gameplay.
