This set was designed to be an accessible entry point for new players while maintaining the strategic depth of the game's established color pie, with this specific iteration featuring art that emphasizes the magical theft inherent to the card's effect.

The Ninth Edition illustration was provided by Adam Rex, an artist well-regarded for his distinctively lush and imaginative style within the fantasy genre. Rex chose to depict the act of confiscation through a swirl of blue arcane energy, capturing the fluid, manipulative nature of blue mana.
