Corpse Traders

Corpse Traders was originally released in the 2014 Duel Decks: Jace vs. Vraska product, a supplemental release for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The set was designed to pit two iconic planeswalker characters against each other, with the Black-aligned card included in the Vraska deck to reflect her thematic focus on destruction and opportunistic manipulation. The card itself was originally printed in the Saviors of Kamigawa set in 2005, featuring an ability that forces players to trade resources, which highlights the predatory nature of the character depicted in the illustration.

The card was illustrated by Dave Dorman, a celebrated fantasy and science fiction artist known for his work on the Star Wars franchise and various role-playing games. Dorman employed a dark, painterly style that captures the sinister atmosphere inherent to the card's mechanics.
