Where it came from
Crux of Fate was originally introduced to the Magic: The Gathering trading card game in the 2015 Fate Reforged set, designed by Wizards of the Coast as a powerful board-wipe spell themed around the draconic history of the Tarkir plane. Its mechanics allow players to destroy all non-Dragon creatures, effectively forcing them to choose between their army and the legendary dragons that define the set's narrative conflict.
This specific printing, card number 275, was released as part of the 2022 Final Fantasy Commander deck series. It features updated art that bridges the gap between the game's high-fantasy roots and the iconic visual language of the Final Fantasy franchise, intended to appeal to fans of both properties while maintaining the card's established mechanical role as a tactical reset button in multiplayer matches.
