Damn

Damn was introduced as a notable inclusion in the Modern Horizons 2 set in 2021, designed to bridge the gap between classic black board wipes and flexible utility spells. By allowing players to pay its mana cost to destroy a single creature or its overload cost to destroy all creatures, the card provides significant tactical versatility. It reflects the set's design philosophy of injecting powerful, mechanically complex cards into the Modern format to invigorate deck building.

The promotional version, designated as 80p, features distinct alternate art that leans into the set's evocative, sometimes macabre aesthetic. While the core set was illustrated by various artists to capture a sense of planes-spanning history, these promotional variants were specifically curated for collectors and players participating in set-focused events. The reception was largely positive, as the card quickly became a staple in Commander and competitive formats for its efficient board control capabilities.
